Potable Water Expansion Tank, 3/4 Inch Male Connection, 2.1 Gallons Tank Volume, Watts
Detailed Description
A potable water expansion tank designed to protect residential hot water systems from pressure increases caused by thermal expansion. Commonly installed on gas, oil, or electric water heaters, the tank absorbs excess water volume created during the heating cycle, helping maintain stable system pressure and preventing nuisance discharge from temperature and pressure relief valves. It features a pre‑pressurized steel tank with a butyl rubber diaphragm and polypropylene liner that separates water from the air chamber. This design prevents waterlogging, reduces air loss, and promotes long service life. The tank is factory pre‑charged to 20 PSI and can be field adjusted to match system requirements. With a total tank volume of 2.1 gallons and an acceptance volume of approximately 1.48 gallons at 20 PSI, the tank is well suited for residential potable water systems. The expansion tank includes a 3/4 inch male threaded connection and is rated for a maximum working pressure of 150 PSI and temperatures up to 200 Degrees F.
